Nowadays we are immersed into the “sea” of information. How to successfully manage your information is critical to your study, career and whole-person development. The course aims to conquer this problem by broadening your InfoIQ and developing your information literacy. Specifically, upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
  • describe the theories of information management;
  • explain the conceptual framework of information management from the science, engineering and business perspectives;
  • apply the general methodologies and strategies to identify, retrieve, evaluate, utilise and create quality information for decision making and problem-solving;
  • design and develop particular information management solutions to support life-long learning;
  • work productively as part of team in a collaborative and virtual environment with a global context.

To achieve these learning outcomes, the course will employ effective and interactive teaching and learning activities, such as case studies, concept mapping, interactive-media-technology lab tutorial, and online language companion tutoring.
